Join us for the opening reception of Raised to Engage: Past and Present, Ricardo Hernandez, A Life in the Arts, a retrospective exhibition celebrating the extensive career of local artist Ricardo Hernandez. This showcase features a diverse collection of his works, including ceramics, sculptures, and paintings created from the 1970s to the present day.
Hernandez's ceramic pieces, notably influenced by tattoo culture and his travels in the South Pacific, offer a unique perspective on his artistic journey. The exhibition provides an opportunity to explore the evolution of his art over five decades.
The Old Bakery & Emporium, operated by the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department, is dedicated to highlighting the talents of local artists aged 50 and above. Located in the heart of Austin, this historic venue serves as an art gallery, artisan emporium, and history center.
