Description
I have spent most of my professional career working with children and families in various educational and community settings. I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults in the areas of depression, anxiety, confidence, communication, relationships, stress management and school-related issues.
Therapy with me is empowering, nonjudgmental, and evidence based. Together, we work to identify what your strengths are and how we can leverage them to help you face your challenges. I’m not the type of therapist who will sit there in silence. I am engaged, I am listening, I am reflecting back, offering interpretations and questions. My job is to get to know you so that I can offer support where you want it. That being said, my work with clients draws on talk therapy, Person-Centered, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBT), as well as Mindfulness-based work.
My interests lie in integrating the modern and ancient sciences, as well as incorporating movement and creativity into therapy. I believe that mindful and intentional study of the body and mind through movement and creative reflection helps individuals through difficult life experiences and transitions. Therefore, I am currently working on a 200-hour yoga teacher certification in hopes of helping others gain awareness of their breath, body, and mind during therapy sessions which will help improve their overall wellness.
Looking for a therapist can be an overwhelming, scary, and intimidating experience. That is why I offer a 15-minute complimentary phone consultation prior to the first session to answer any of your concerns and see if we might be a good fit. I understand how important it is to feel comfortable and compatible with your counselor; if we vibe, we vibe, and if we don’t it’s all good.
